Shear line, 'amihan,' easterlies may bring rains across PH
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, Dec. 2, said the convergence of the northeast monsoon, or the cold winds and the easterlies or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean caused the formation of shear line, which may affect parts of Luzon.

Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the shear line--an area where the cold northeasterly winds and warm easterlies converge --- may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains in Cagayan Valley, Caraga, and Isabela.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains while the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by northeast monsoon or "amihan."
PAGASA warned those in Batanes and Babuyan Islands of possible threats from flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
Moreover, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies, and flash floods or landslides may also occur during severe thunderstorms, said PAGASA.
