The Department of Health (DOH) reported an additional 217 new Covid-19 infections in the Philippines, bringing the total number of cases to 4,125,083.

As of Friday, Dec. 1, the latest data from the DOH Covid-19 tracker revealed no new deaths, maintaining the fatality rate at 1.6 percent.
It also revealed that the country has 3,186 active Covid-19 cases.
On a positive note, 225 individuals have recovered from the virus, resulting in an impressive 98.3 percent recovery rate.
The total number of survivors has reached 4,055,131.
In terms of healthcare infrastructure utilization, the DOH reported that 10.26 percent of the 1,851 available intensive care unit (ICU) beds are currently occupied by Covid-19 patients.
Non-ICU Covid-19 beds see a utilization rate of 15.93 percent, with 2,755 beds in use out of 17,293. Mechanical ventilators, numbering 2,004, have 89 currently in use.
Despite these statistics, the DOH emphasized the importance of not becoming complacent in the face of the ongoing Covid-19 threat.
The department continues to stress the need to adhere to minimum health standards, including the proper wearing of face masks and staying in well-ventilated areas.
Individuals showing symptoms are urged to isolate themselves immediately.
As a precautionary measure, the DOH reminded the public to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster shots as soon as possible.
