The OTOP hub serves as a display center for local products from different municipalities in the province and this city.

Ruthelma Samonte, Department of Trade and Industry-Eastern Samar provincial director, thanked the local government unit of Borongan and other agencies for the realization of the program.

"This project is part of DTI's strategic goal to offer innovative and competitive products from Eastern Samar," she said, adding that it is also part of the agency's “NextGen” program.

Samonte added that they are showcasing improved products in terms of packaging and designs as part of their product development plan.

City Information Officer Ruperto Ambil II cited the need to push and inspire producers, manufacturers, and product developers.

"The good thing is that various government agencies and officials are helping out because they see the direction and the need to answer the questions of who we are, what are we, and what are our products as well as where is Borongan?" Ambil said.

He added that they also aim to improve and gain success in removing the province from being the third poorest province in the country.
