In celebration of his birthday on Dec. 5, Zamora's "Dugo ng San Juaneño, para sa San Juaneño" blood donation drive was held at the San Juan Gymnasium in partnership with Cardinal Santos Medical Center where the collected blood will be stored in their blood banks.
The collected blood will be given for free to San Juaneños who will need blood for their medical procedures.
I am very happy because a lot of people participated here to give their blood. This really makes my heart filled with joy and is also one of the greatest birthday gifts that I can receive -- the blood of San Juaneños for San Juaneños)," he added.
Members of national government agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) also participated in the activity.
After blood extraction, donors received red bags containing 3 kilos of rice and canned goods as a way of thanking their generous act of donating blood.
Aside from the bloodletting drive, the local government, through the City Health Department, also conducted free influenza and pneumococcal vaccinations for senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.
