ILOILO CITY – The management of the three Iloilo Electric Cooperatives has assured no major power interruptions in this province this holiday season.
“There are no scheduled power interruptions,” said James Balsomo, general manager of ILECO-III, in a joint year-end report to the Iloilo media.

“But we are ready to address any unscheduled power interruptions for Christmas and New Year,” Balsomo added.
Balsomo said ILECO-III, which serves towns in northern Iloilo, is always ready for major power-related problems at the end of the year as it is the time when major weather disturbances occur such as super typhoon “Yolanda” in November 2013.
General Managers Miguel Paguntalan Jr. and Jose Redmond Eric Roquios of ILECO-I and ILECO II, respectively, assured that they are ready to address any power interruptions.
However, they stressed that it is not under their control if there is a system problem with power producers or even the National Grid Corp.of the Philippines (NGCP), which transmits power from the power generators and distributes it in the grid.
