President Marcos has pitched the revival of youth exchange programs between the Philippines and Japan during his four-day trip in Tokyo.

In his intervention at one of the sessions during the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-Japan Commemorative Summit, Marcos particularly brought up the revival of the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Program.
He said the Philippines and Japan will be able to continue the program, which serves as a key component in building lifelong bonds of friendship and mutual understanding among young peoples in ASEAN and Japan.
He added that the Philippines is also grateful for Japan’s efforts in spreading cooperation through the "Sports for Tomorrow” program, which does not only promote sports awareness among ASEAN youth, but also urged inclusivity in sports by supporting participation of women and persons with special needs.
“We wish to express our gratitude for Japan’s WA Project. Aptly named ‘Wa’ for the Japanese concept translated as ‘harmony,’ the project is designed to enhance cultural understanding to facilitate cooperation among the citizens of ASEAN and among Japan,” he said.
The President also expressed belief that the future between ASEAN and Japan "can even be brighter."
