Benitez said BESO will make government services more efficient and accessible to the people of Bacolod.
He said the city government allocated a budget of more than P10 million for the construction of the rent-free office. “This is our step towards promoting online services.”
Benitez said the project was conceptualized in 2022. “After a year, we have made this into a reality,” he added.
This satellite office has more than 10 counters that could serve different government transactions.
“It’s no different when you go to the City Hall, as BESO will have the same efficiency,” the mayor said, adding that they are looking to provide more services to the people comfortably and conveniently.
Benitez said they would like to get the number of clients served on a daily basis to determine if they need to add more counters.
If the number of clients is only minimal, they can make it as a receiving hub and forward the documents to the concerned department at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), he added.
He said they are planning to open the office on weekends, adding that they will operate full blast next week.
During the opening of BESO, Ayala was the maiden client that paid over P28 million in Real Property Tax (RPT) to the city, according to Benitez.
Benitez said that BESO also has a tourism booth, where investors can get information or data that will showcase investment opportunities and tourist destinations here.
Aside from Ayala, an express service office also opened at SM City Bacolod this year.
