Agency files $10 million lawsuit vs 3 ex-members of K-pop group Fifty Fifty
Korean agency Attrakt has filed a lawsuit seeking compensation and penalty for breach of contracts against three former members of rookie K-pop girl group Fifty Fifty.
Fifty Fifty, debuting in November last year, rose to prominence through their song “Cupid,” which entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

However, the four members of Fifty Fifty, Saena, Aran, Sio and Keena, filed an injunction against Attrakt in June this year, seeking an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts
However, the case was thrown out by the Seoul Central District Court in August, dismissing Fifty Fifty’s application for injunction against their contracts.
Member Keena has since returned to Attrakt after withdrawing her lawsuit but the three other members did not. Attrakt terminated the contracts of Saena, Aran and Sio in October.
Now, Attrakt filed a 13 billion won (about $10 million) lawsuit against Saena, Aran and Sio, seeking compensation and penalty for violating their exclusive contracts with the agency, Korean media reported on Dec. 19.
Also named defendants in the lawsuit are the parents of the three former members, and Ahn Sung-il and Baek Jin-sil of outsource company The Givers, which is accused of participating in the unfair breach of exclusive contracts.
Attrakt is initially seeking partial claim in the complaint in consideration of the possibility of increasing the amount of damage in the future during the litigation process.
"We will do our best to carry out the lawsuit, keeping in mind that this lawsuit may be an important opportunity to establish a fair trade order in the entertainment sector beyond the simple recovery of damage," according to Attrakt’s lawyer Park Jae-hyun
