Two persons were arrested by the Bulacan police for illegally manufacturing firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices in a residential area in Barangay Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 16.
In reports submitted to Lt. Col. Jacquiline P. Puapo, Bulacan police officer-in-charge, the arrested suspects were a 38-year-old woman, and a 31-year-old man, both of Northville 5.
They were arrested by personnel of the Bocaue police after a concerned citizen reported to them that there was illegal manufacturing of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices in the stated residential address.
The two suspects were caught in the act of making pyrotechnic products and failed to present a license, permit, and other pertinent documents for manufacturing. They were immediately arrested.
Confiscated from the suspects were 20 packs of Roman candles (100 pieces each pack); 2 bundles of Roman candles (500 pieces each bundle); 1 sack of unfinished Roman candles (2000 pieces per sack), and other paraphernalia for making firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices with an estimated market value of P5,400.
A criminal complaint for violation of Republic Act 7183 (An Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture, Distributor, and Use of Firecrackers and Pyrotechnic Device) has been prepared against the arrested suspects.
