In order to optimize services to customers, motorcycle taxi service platform Angkas said it will be launching a revamped version of its Angkas app, slated for release in 2024.
During the Angkas General Assembly on Dec. 16, CEO George Royeca said the new app will bring about “increased efficiency and income opportunities” for its biker-partners.
"This upcoming app signifies our evolution as a Filipino company. We've grown significantly, and our aim is to achieve world-class status—a challenging endeavor. Think of the new app as the 'Angkas Ferrari'—a superior and refined experience," said Royeca.
To fully realize this, Angkas has tapped the expertise of a Hungarian tech expert to improve the customer experience and technical issues of its online application.
Royeca introduced Josef Puchinger from Vienna, Austria to more than 200 Angkas Chapter presidents.
Angkas said that Puchinger’s 28-year experience in tech development will help upscale its application to enhance services for customers.
“When you face challenges with bookings, rest assured, the Angkas Tech Team is fully engaged. I've personally relied on Angkas daily since arriving in Manila, and I deeply appreciate this exceptional service,” Puchinger said.
Angkas has reportedly been experiencing technical glitches in its booking system, which Royeca attributed to the app’s outdated system.
"While our app may resemble a well-optimized Honda Civic engine-wise, we're relentlessly fine-tuning it to ensure seamless bookings, especially during the demanding November-December period," Royeca said.
He asked for their biker-partners’ patience and understanding while the improvements are being addressed.
