OVP gets ISO-recertification; two satellite offices also certified

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Monday, Dec. 18, announced that it has received recertification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Certification 9001:2015, demonstrating that its management system is at par with international standards.

In a Facebook post, the OVP said that the office underwent audit sessions last Dec. 6 for the ISO 9001:2015 recertification. Aside from the OVP recertification for the next three years, the OVP Satellite Offices in Davao and Panay and Negros Islands also got certified for the first time.

“Ang ISO certification ay iginagawad sa mga organisasyong nagpapamalas ng kakayahan sa pagbibigay serbisyo na may magandang kalidad at sumusunod sa mga batas at regulasyon ng pamahalaan (The ISO certification is given to organizations that showed capabilities to deliver quality service and those that follow the laws and regulations of the government),” the post read.

Vice President Sara Duterte’s official Facebook page re-shared the post with the caption, “Good News! Office of the Vice President - ISO recertified.”

According to the OVP, the office was first certified for its Quality Management System (QMS) last 2017 and was recertified in 2020.

It went through another surveillance audit last year before the recertification was awarded this year.

“Ito ay upang matiyak at kumpirmahin na ang OVP ay tumutupad pa rin sa mga pamantayang ginawa nito noong una itong nakatanggap ng ISO certification (This is to ensure and confirm that the OVP still follows the standards it set when it first received the ISO certification),” the post said.

The recertification, the OVP added, is proof of its dedication in providing quality service to Filipinos.

The 2017 ISO certification was awarded during the term of former vice president Leni Robredo, who stepped down from office in June 2022.

The ISO certification is “consistent” with Executive Order No. 605 series 2007, which seeks to institutionalize quality management systems in government by directing all departments and agencies of the Executive branch, including all government-owned and/or controlled corporations (GOCCs) and government financial institutions (GFIs) “to adopt the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems as part of the implementation of a government-wide quality management program.”
