New PDEA-7 chief takes over


CEBU CITY – The new regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) assumed his post on Monday, December 18.

Emerson Margate replaced Jigger Montallana who was transferred to the PDEA Central Office International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service.

Montallana will serve as service director in his new assignment.

Margate served as the regional director of PDEA-Northern Mindanao before moving to Central Visayas.

Montallana was named PDEA-7 regional director on January 16 this year.

With Montallana as its regional director, the PDEA-7 conducted a total of 133 anti-illegal drug operations that led to the arrest of 316 drug personalities.

Also under Montallana’s leadership, the PDEA-7 dismantled 53 drug dens and seized 49 kilos of shabu with an estimated value of P333 million.
