Muntinlupa LGU workers to receive service recognition incentive, gratuity pay

Employees of the Muntinlupa City government and those under contract of service and job orders will be getting additional benefits this Christmas season. 

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon announced on Dec. 18 that the City Council will tackle the measure granting city employees the service recognition incentive (SRI).

City government workers under contract of  service and job orders will get gratuity pay. 

“Yung atin in-announce na SRI at gratuity under process na yan. Dadaan na po sa City Council today. We thank them in advance (The SRI and gratuity that we announced are under process. It will pass through the City Council today),” said Biazon during the flag-raising ceremony at the Muntinlupa City hall, drawing cheers from employees. 

The mayor also announced that city employees can get their performance-based bonus (PBB) on Dec. 19. 

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issued two administrative orders for the grant of SRI and gratuity pay.

Under Budget Circular 2023-2 issued by the Department of Budget, each qualified employee can get an SRI not exceeding P20,000. 

Covered by the SRI grant are “Civilian personnel in national government agencies (NGAs), including those in SUCs and GOCCs, occupying regular, contractual or casual positions; Military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Department of National Defense, and uniformed personnel' of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology under the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Bureau of Corrections under the Department of Justice, the Philippine Coast Guard under the Department of Transportation, and the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Employees in the Legislative and Judicial Departments and other offices vested with fiscal autonomy; Employees in LGUs; and Employees in LWDs [local water districts].” 

Under Budget Circular 2023-3, those under contract of service and job orders are entitled to get a one-time gratuity pay not exceeding P5,000.
