Marcos confident he places best people for every gov't post in 2023

TOKYO, Japan—President Marcos believes that he was able to "find the best people" for his Cabinet this year.

Marcos said finding the best people to fill government positions are among the important tasks he was able to fulfill as the President.

"Equally importantly that we are beginning to find the best people for each of those positions," Marcos said in an interview with Manila-based reporters on Monday, Dec. 18.

Marcos also described 2023 as a year of "structural changes" in an attempt to move away from the Covid economy.

"I think this year 2023 was really the year of structural changes. Those structural changes were necessary because we have to remodel, or readjust rather, for example our fiscal policy, our monetary policy, our spending policy so that we are moving away from the Covid economy," Marco said.

His outlook for next year, on the other hand, is to continue modernizing the bureaucracy.

He also said that the country is moving in the right direction and expects that the structural changes made this year would have a greater effect than this year , saying "we just keep pushing and pushing and pushing" to realize the outcomes of the structural changes this year.
