Monkey Shoulder has always been present in the fun and best times—may it be at a party, a gathering with family and friends, or a celebration with workmates after a fun day’s work in different, creative, and extraordinary ways possible.

This time, Monkey Shoulder takes creativity and community to another level as it collaborates with talented muralist Jill Arteche (@jillarteche) for a community mural. This captivating artwork is an integral part of the Monkey Shoulder pop-up in BGC, set to be a vibrant celebration of everyone's creativity, adding fun, flavor, and vibrance to the scene.

Arteche, a renowned visual artist and illustrator, has showcased her distinctive style locally and internationally through different exhibitions and collaborations and partnering with notable brands and clients.

On the opportunity to collaborate with Monkey Shoulder, she shares, “I was so excited. I’ve been manifesting the opportunity to collaborate with an alcohol beverage brand all year. To my surprise, I was finally able to get the opportunity, and for that, I’m also grateful. I really like the brand as well, from the flavor to the packaging design.”

The artwork

Sharing her thought process behind her creation, Arteche says, “I was inspired by the phrase, ‘Make It Monkey,’ which for me, played with the idea of living boldly and making your life truly yours. This set the tone for how I worked and how I wanted the artwork to be perceived later on.”

Thus, the artwork is something that will reflect the welcoming and lively feel of Monkey Shoulder and its patrons while showcasing the holiday vibe.

Jill explains, “In order to align with the brand’s look and feel, it was essential to make the artwork as playful and lively as possible. The artwork highlighted people having a good time, as well as visual elements authentic to the brand.

“Additionally, since it would be on display at Monkey Shoulder's Christmas pop-up, I hope the artwork radiates the same excitement that Monkey Shoulder does, both as a drink and a brand,” she says.

To really feel the essence of a community enjoying the party together, you can join in the fun as you fill the colors of the mural with tape in Monkey Shoulder’s pop-up event.

This is something that the artist is looking forward to seeing with the Monkey Shoulder community.

“Just as the artwork suggests, ‘Make it Monkey.’ I hope people can fill it with as much color as they can without giving it much thought, while sipping a refreshing Monkey Shoulder cocktail and enjoying the company of friends (and possibly new ones) and some good music.”
