20,000 Manila city government employees to receive special incentives

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna announced on Monday, Dec. 18, that each employee of the local government unit will be receiving a special recognition incentive (SIR).
The mayor also led the distribution of rice bags to 1,300 personnel of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) on Monday.
She was joined by Manila Vice Mayor John Marvin "Yul Servo" Nieto and MTPB adviser Dennis Viaje.
Viaje said that the rice bags were given to each of the MTPB personnel as the city's appreciation for their hard work.
Lacuna-Pangan lauded the MPTB personnel for their selfless service in maintaining traffic in the city streets and even aiding victims of road accidents.
The local chief executive also announced that the SIR will be given early next year to the city government workers, including all 10,000 job order (JO) employees.
The SIR covers around 9,000 regular employees and those who are under contract of services (COs).
The mayor lauded all the city government employees for another year of dedicated service to the public.
She also thanked city treasurer Jasmin Talegon and Nieto who she said worked on the swift passage of the ordinance that paved the way for the release of the said benefits.
"Di man umabot ng Pasko dahil matagal ang proseso niyan, pwede nang gawin ang mga kinakailangang dokumento para matanggap ninyo. Pati mga job orders makakatanggap, sa tulong ng local finance committee at masinop nating pangangasiwa ng pondo ng ating lungsod. Maraming salamat Ma'am Jasmin Talegon (Even if it did not reach Christmas due to the long process, the necessary documents are being undertaken so that you can receive it. JOs will also be given, with the help of the local finance committee and our prudent management of our city's funds. Thank you very much Ma'am Jasmin Talegon)," she expressed.
