TESDA maintains high approval, trust ratings — survey
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has maintained its position as the “most approved and trusted” government agency in the “Pahayag” year-end survey conducted by Publicus Asia.
It received a 77 percent approval rating and a 61 percent trust rating in the survey, which was conducted from Nov. 29 to Dec. 4 with 1,500 respondents.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) followed closely behind, with a 72 percent approval rating and a 59 percent trust rating.
The approval ratings from third to 10th place are the Department of Science and Technology (69 percent), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (68 percent), Commission on Higher Education (67 percent), Department of Social Welfare and Development (66 percent), Department of Education (64 percent), Department of Health (64 percent), Civil Service Commission 63 percent, and Department of Foreign Affairs (61 percent).
“Examining the notable gainers, the Supreme Court witnesses substantial improvement, driven by increased support from various demographics, including the National Capital Region, individuals aged 18-24, middle-income groups, Catholics, non-OFW (overseas Filipino worker) families, and college graduates,” Publicus Asia said in a statement on Dec. 16.
“Similarly, the AFP and the Philippine National Police (PNP) experienced broad-based approval gains across socio-demographic segments, particularly benefiting from increased support among residents of special land (SL) areas,” it added.
Meanwhile, Publicus Asia said the Department of Agriculture exhibited overall approval increases, which is likely influenced by a positive reaction to the recent appointment of Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel.
“Pahayag” 2023 End of the Year Survey is an independent and non-commissioned survey.
