TOKYO, Japan—The Philippines and Japan forged two agreements on coast guard and environmental protection on Sunday, Dec. 17.
President Marcos witnessed the document exchange between both countries' Coast Guard and Environment ministries after his bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the latter's office here.
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant Ronnie Gavan and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ma. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga led the exchange of memorandum of cooperation with their respective Japanese counterparts.
Meanwhile, the Philippines is expected to sign more than five business deals with Japanese investors on Monday, Dec. 17.
Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual disclosed that the Philippines is looking to seal over five deals with Japanese businessmen, on top of the investment pledges from Marcos' previous trip to Japan, which he will follow up this time.
