K-pop boy band EXO member Chanyeol returned to the Philippines after two and a half months and this time, he met Pinoys through a fan meeting organized by clothing brand Penshoppe.
Chanyeol is the latest brand ambassador of Penshoppe, which revealed its collaboration with the K-pop star in March.

On Dec. 16, Chanyeol (찬열) held his Fanmeet in Manila organized by Penshoppe at the SM Mall of Asia Arena that drew thousands of fans.
Before the event, Chanyeol held a press conference at Conrad Manila where he talked about Penshoppe, his return to the Philippines and Filipino fans.
“I’m wearing the Penshoppe t-shirt these days. It actually captures my body…Also I’m actually uploading pictures on Instagram and the picture that I posted, the white t-shirt that I’m wearing during my rehearsal was actually from Penshoppe. And I’m wearing that daily,” he said.
Visit to the Philippines
This was Chanyeol’s third visit to the Philippines this year. He and Sehun, comprising the EXO subunit EXO-SC, held their “Back to Back Fancon Tour in Manila on May 20. Last Oct. 1, he held his “Fun Meet in Manila.”
The fan meeting gave another opportunity for Chanyeol to see Filipino fans.
{First of all, I came to the Philippines quite often this year. Every time I visit, what I think about Filipino fans is that they are very passionate. Whenever I come to the Philippines, I receive a lot of energy, which I’m also looking forward to this time as well,” he said.
Chanyeol added, “For this opportunity, I was able to join Penshoppe. And through this opportunity, we can have various talks and also various experiences as well.

According to him, the fans are the reason that made him excited to come back to the country.
“The most [important] thing that is making me excited to actually come back here, of course, the EXO-Ls, which makes me happy whenever I visit here. And you know, whenever I browse the internet or check the SNS [social network service or social media], on the Philippine road, there’s a huge Penshoppe billboard of my picture,” he happily said.
As Penshoppe ambassador, Chanyeol’s photo adorns the clothing brand’s branches in the country and said he wants to visit a Penshoppe store.
“I would like to try shopping in a Penshoppe store. I heard that there is a very huge Penshoppe store here in SM Mall of Asia. So I would like to try shopping there. I heard there is my picture so I would like to check how well it is done,” he said.
Music
Last October, Chanyeol released his third digital single “Good Enough” in which he participated as a songwriter.
“The inspiration for me to write the lyrics of ‘Good Enough’ was observing people. There was also inspiration that came from dramas,” said Chanyeol.
He said that he wants to show more of himself as a solo artist and hopes he can release an album.
“I also have different projects in the future. I think I haven’t shown myself as a solo artist a lot so I would like to release a solo album if I could,” he said.
About his music, he said, “First of all, my wish is that my music will give you energy and hope. But also I would like to wish that my music can be easy to sing with and enjoy.
Collaborations with Penshoppe
Chanyeol is also excited about future collaborations with Penshoppe.
“Also we are collaborating with Penshoppe. I would also like to look forward to more projects with Penshoppe, showcase more different stylings as well and the synergy that we are going to have together. I’m really curious about the upcoming projects with Penshoppe,” he added.

When asked if he would like to exchange positions with another EXO member, Chanyeol replied, “Honestly, I don’t have any position that I would like to change. Every member has charming points and those are the things that can express themselves very well. So I think I’m beautiful as me.”
Fans
Chanyeol said one of the things that he loves about Filipino fans is they sing along.
“And the thing that I was surprised with Sehun when we did a fan concert here in the Philippines ,you guys sing along with the songs very well and you guys are really enjoying it. Whenever I perform in front of you, it’s not like I’m showcasing to you but I’m actually enjoying the moment. I actually feel that. I would like to come back here more often and enjoy more [time] with you,” he said.
On his advice to fans who are struggling, he said, “I have the feeling that how dare I give advice to you. But I have this one thing that I can say to you guys. Whether it’s your profession or relationship with other people, I think the most important thing is follow your heart. Because whenever you do, you will never regret it.”
“Let’s make today the best day of our lives,” he said about the fan meeting.
