Japan PM extends sympathy to Mindanao earthquake, bombing victims
TOKYO, Japan—Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has extended his sympathy to the victims of the strong earthquake and explosion in Mindanao.

Kishida conveyed his sympathy during his opening statement at the bilateral meeting with President Marcos on Sunday, Dec. 17.
He said he "mourned the victims of the earthquake and explosion in Mindanao on December 3," and extended his heartfelt sympathy to those who were wounded.
A 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit parts of Mindanao last month where three fatalities were reported.
An explosion took place at the Mindanao State University early this month, which authorities tagged as a bomb attacked.
Kishida and Marcos held a bilateral meeting on Sunday where they talked about various areas of cooperation, including the proposed defense pact--Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA), which they intend to speed up.
