How a leading pita wrap brand in the Philippines is expanding over to
Hong Kong
At a glance

Pita wraps have long been a favorite snack for Filipinos due to how cheap and simple it is. Often we see it being sold in buy one, take one bundles, giving us a bang for our buck as we look around for cheap places to eat. One such brand that comes to mind when thinking of quality pita wraps at an affordable price is Turk’s.
What started as a humble food cart back in 2007 by its CEO, Gem L. Zeñarosa, has now transformed into what many consider to be the number one pita wrap brand nationwide. Now, Zeñarosa has his eyes set on bringing the Filipino pita favorite to new horizons by taking it to Tsim Tsa Tsui, one of the busiest and best places where you can experience the full spectrum of Hong Kong.
“Expansion in Hong Kong has been in our expansion plan abroad. I believe it is an excellent location to open a business given the number of foot traffic and healthy economy,” shares Zeñarosa. “We are confident that a “specialty food concept” like Turks with excellent quality would capture the market of HK.”

It’s a new adventure for a leading pita wrap brand as it will mark the first destination outside of the Philippines, wherein Turks has nearly 700 branches. “Our menu has been our pride making it number one in the Philippines amongst all the brands with the same concept. We want to carry the same menu as we expand. Because we believe it would capture the palate of customers in Hong Kong just how Filipinos enjoy our product,” says Zeñarosa.
Keen on its success, the plans laid out for Turks in Hong Kong reveal that five more branches in different strategic areas will set up shop next year. Its second store is set to open in Kowloon.
