PH, Taiwan cold chain industries ink MOU for Filipino startups
Cold chain industry associations in the Philippines and Taiwan have forged a partnership for mutual cooperation in developing cross-capacity building and promoting investments in between the two countries.
The Cold Chain Association of the Philippines (CCAP) and the Taiwan Cold Chain Association (TCCA) sealed their collaboration by signing a memorandum of understanding on Nov. 23 for a start-up incubation for Filipino entrepreneurs in Taiwan.

The ceremony was held as part of the 2023 Philippines-Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit hosted by the country.
Among its signatories were CCAP President Anthony S. Dizon, TCCA Chairman Freezer Lin, New Energy Nexus Philippines Country Manager Brenda Valerio and CrossBond CEO Uniform Lin.
Trade Undersecretary and Board of Investments (BOI) Managing Head Ceferino Rodolfo witnessed the signing ceremony, along with Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry President George Barcelon; Janet Chen, Deputy General Director of Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute-Service Systems Technology Center; and Clement Yang, Chairman of the Philippine Affairs Committee, Chinese National Federation of Industries.
Roldofo expressed the BOI's commitment to help advance the country's cold chain industries through its support for industry players and associations.
According to the BOI, Taiwan was the agency's first country of choice to conduct its sector-specific international investment roadshow, particularly for the Philippine cold chain industry following the opening of foreign investment participation as stated in the revised Public Service Act.
Prior to the MOU signing, the BOI led by Governor Marjorie O. Ramos-Samaniego and Resource-based Industries Service Director Raquel B. Echague went to Taiwan to meet with TCCA and their affiliated firms in August to discuss investments opportunities in the Philippines.
