Over P21-M 'shabu' discovered inside abandoned massage room at NAIA

More than three kilos of suspected “shabu” with a street value of more than P21 million were found inside an abandoned massage room at the pre-departure area of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, authorities reported on Friday, Dec. 15.
The suspected illegal drugs were discovered by construction worker Paul Anthony Padilla inside a cabinet at the former Club Manila Massage Center which has been closed to the public since the pandemic hit in 2020.
A report from NAIA authorities said that construction workers were demolishing the old cabinets inside the Club Manila Massage Center when Padilla made the discovery.
It was learned that a new company has acquired the Club Manila Massage Center in concession with the Manila International Airport (MIAA) management. It is subjected to a renovation as the new owner plans to transform it to a food court.
Padilla turned over the suspected drugs contained in three improvised pouches and weighing approximately 3,180 grams to authorities. It has an estimated street value of P21,624,000.
Authorities have conducted an investigation to determine who owns the suspected illegal drugs and how they were introduced into the establishment.
