PUDTOL, Apayao – Police unearthed a New People’s Army explosives cache in the mountains of Sitio Agura, Barangay Malibang, this town, on December 13.
Its location was pointed out by a 57-year-old farmer and member of the West Front Committee, Komiteng Probinsiya Cagayan, Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley, living in the area who had earlier surrendered to the police.

Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, said the surrenderer revealed its location in an interrogation.
Lawmen proceeded to the area and recovered a 226-foot long Fuse Time Commercial, two grenade rifles, M76 high explosive, a grenade rifle, M76, high explosives without pin, one 60mm cartridge, high explosive, three handheld Baofeng radios, and two radio chargers.
The surrenderer is in the custody of 1st Apayao Provincial Mobile Force Company for documentation and debriefing.
The recovered explosives are in the custody of the Apayao Provincial EOD and Canine Unit while the handheld radios and chargers are in the safekeeping of the 1st Apayao PMFC for appropriate disposition.
