Motorcycle rider hurt in collision with truck in Ermita, Manila
A motorcycle rider was hurt after he accidentally hit the back of a truck in Ermita, Manila on Friday morning, Dec. 15.

The Manila Police District (MPD), Ermita Police Station (PS-5), did not disclose the name of the victim who suffered from chest pain after the accident.
Authorities said the accident occurred around 11:50 a.m. on Finance Road, corner of Taft Avenue in Ermita. It caused heavy traffic in the area.
Based on initial police investigation, the truck driver said that his truck lost its brakes, so he just rammed his truck into the center island to avoid hitting another motorist.
However, the motorcycle which was behind the truck was not able to hit the brakes immediately, causing the driver to hit the back of the truck.
The motorcycle driver refused to be brought to the hospital after his vehicle's steering wheel hit his chest during the accident.
He also did not file a case as he said that it was a "self-accident."
Police added that the truck was immediately towed by the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB).
