BACOLOD CITY – The body of a baby girl was found in Purok Bansa, Barangay Central Tabao, Valladolid, Negros Occidental on Thursday, December 14.
Police Major Eric Doronila, Valladolid police chief, said her umbilical cord was still attached to her when she was discovered.
However, they could not establish if she was a newborn or if she was a product of an abortion.
A barangay official told police that the infant was dumped outside the house of a resident.
Doronila believed that the baby was left there early Thursday morning.
He said they coordinated with the Municipal Health Office to assess the baby and she later buried at the town’s public cemetery.
