2 illegal firecracker manufacturers arrested in Bulacan


Two men who were illegally manufacturing firecrackers were arrested by the Bulacan police in Barangay Balasing, Santa Maria, Bulacan on Thursday, Dec. 14.

In reports submitted to Lt. Col. Jacquiline P. Puapo, Bulacan police officer-in-charge, members of the Santa Maria police responded after receiving information about the unauthorized production of firecrackers in the area

The suspects were caught in the act of manufacturing firecrackers without the proper permits.

Authorities seized 8,000 pieces of five-star firecrackers worth P5,000.

The suspects will face a criminal complaint for violation of Republic Act 7183.

In another operation, the Bulacan police apprehended individuals involved in criminal activities, including wanted persons and drug dealers.

Lt. Col. Puapo said that a 33-year-old tattoo artist, identified as alias "Bert" was arrested by the Bulacan police armed with a warrant of arrest issued by the Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 120 San Jose Del Monte City for the crimes of illegal recruitment and large-scale illegal recruitment.

Similarly, the team of operatives by the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM), Marilao, Bocaue, and Plaridel police tracked down and served the arrest warrants issued by the court to five individuals wanted for various crimes and offenses.

Those arrested were placed under the custody of the arresting unit or station.

In a series of buy-bust operations conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Angat, Meycauayan City, Marilao, and Baliwag City, eight drug peddlers were arrested and seized from them were suspected shabu valued at P29,000 and the marked money.

The arrested individuals and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU). Criminal complaints for violations of R.A. 9165 have been prepared against the suspects for filing in court.
