Over 1.8 million state workers are set to receive a one-time service recognition incentive (SRI) of P20,000 beginning on Friday, Dec. 15
This as the Administrative Order (AO) No. 12, which will grant incentives to employees of several government agencies, has been approved by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman commended the president for the initiative, saying that it acknowledges the work of government employees.
“This is in recognition of the tireless dedication of our public servants. This is one way of making them feel that the government acknowledges their good work and efficient performance,” Pangandaman said.
“On behalf of the DBM, I commend President BBM for approving Administrative Order No. 12 authorizing the grant of the Service Recognition Incentive—which has been implemented since 2019—to government employees for fiscal year 2023,” she added.
“As the Order notes, administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ‘recognizes all government employees for their collective and invaluable contribution to the government’s continuing efforts in pursuing the objectives, commitments, targets, and deliverables under the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and the President’s 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda,” Sec. Mina added.
Government employees who will receive the SRI include those who work in state universities and colleges; government-owned or controlled corporations; personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, the Bureau of Corrections, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority.
Meanwhile, for legislative and judicial departments, those who work in offices vested with fiscal autonomy, local water districts, and agencies exempted from the coverage of RA No. 6758 will receive the SRI.
As for local government units, their respective Sanggunian will determine those who will receive the SRI depending on the LGU’s financial capability.
Earlier, the president also approved AO No. 13 which authorizes the grant of one-time gratuity pay of at least P5,000 for qualified COS and JO workers.
