Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “WES” Gatchalian spearheaded the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Undersecretary Lyle Filomeon Pasco, Social Housing and Finance Corporation (SHFC) President Federico Laxa, city, SK, and barangay officials of Veinte Reales.

Gatchalian said he takes pride in the housing project's three innovations: the two Homeowner's Associations (Laon HOA & Cheng Ville HOA),  two sizes of housing units (36 sq.m. & 42 sq.m.) being offered, and the joint management by the local government and the Laon community.

The units which are now ready for occupancy, are part of the partial completion of Phase I of the city's housing project. They will be entrusted to families in Laon, Barangay Veinte Reales, under a mortgage agreement.

The city’s Public Information Office (PIO) said that a total of 192 housing units across four buildings of the Laon Community Mortgage Program (CMP) Vertical Housing Project were handed over to the Laon HOA Federation, Inc.

After the turnover of the housing units, the groundbreaking and capsule-laying ceremony for the CMP Vertical Housing Project - Phase II and 3S Center Veinte Reales followed.

The occasion marks the beginning of the city's forthcoming projects designed to advance the development of Barangay Veinte Reales, specifically housing and the provision of social services.

The 3S Center Veinte Reales is set to be established, a 2,490-square-meter building, which will have various facilities such as the Barangay Hall, Police Sub-station, Daycare Center, Mega Health Station, HOA office, Basketball Court, among others.

In addition, the construction of the Phase II of the housing project will begin in the 4th quarter of December this year. This phase shall house 11 buildings and 528 units.

Gatchalian said he is looking forward to Phase II of the Laon CMP Vertical Housing Project.

“[Sa tagumpay ng Phase I] sa tulong ng SHFC, ng DHSUD, at pagtutulungan ng national at local, at siyempre ng Home Owners’ Association; natupad na ang pangarap ng ating mga kababayan dito sa Veinte Reales. At hindi puwedeng hindi tumuloy ito (With the success of Phase I, and with the assistance of SHFC, DHSUD, and the collaboration of national and local efforts, and, of course, the Home Owners’ Association; the dreams of our fellow citizens here in Veinte Reales have been realized. And it does not end here),” he said.
