LPA has 'slim chance' of developing into a tropical cyclone --- PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, Dec. 14, said the Low Pressure Area (LPA) being monitored outside the country's area of responsibility (PAR) has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.

In the PAGASA's 4 p.m. live broadcast, weather specialist Rhea Torres said the LPA which was seen 1,865 kilometers east southeast of Southeastern Mindanao may enter PAR on Saturday, Dec. 16, and may bring rains in parts of the country on Sunday, Dec. 17.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, or "amihan" will bring isolated light rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon where partly cloudy to cloudy skies will be expected.
In Visayas and Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will be felt due to the easterlies or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
PAGASA warned the public of threats from flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms in the affected areas.
