“We can expect to have faster travel from Mandurriao to the coastal road. It is very important for commerce in the city, and it will improve the investment environment in Iloilo necessary to attract investors and, in the process, create job opportunities,” said former Ilonggo Sen. Franklin Drilon during the inauguration.

The Jiba-on Flyover is one of the four pet projects of Drilon before he retired from politics in 2022.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) implemented the project with contractor International Builders Corp. (IBC).

DPWH-6 Assistant Regional Director Al Fruto said the flyover stretches 240 meters on the Iloilo Circumferential Road or C-1 Road. It features six 40-meter pre-stressed concrete girders.

“It will also help reduce traffic congestion,” added Fruto.
