De Brito, also the head coach of the national women’s volleyball team, joined the Chargers in their inaugural campaign last year where they placed eighth in the Reinforced Conference.

The team also settled for eighth in the First All-Filipino Conference early this year, before plummeting to 10th in the Invitational Conference a few months ago.

Akari has yet to reveal De Brito’s replacement, but assured supporters that it is doing its best to further improve the future of the team.

“More announcements will follow soon regarding the new direction the Akari Chargers will take moving forward,” the statement read.
