Bloodstains found inside car match with Camilon parents, PNP says
The samples of the bloodstains that were found inside a vehicle that was allegedly used in dumping a cadaver in Batangas matched with the parents of beauty pageant contestant Catherine Camilon, the Philippine National Police (PNP) disclosed on Thursday, Dec. 14.
PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said this was the result of the test conducted by the police Forensics Group based on the blood samples taken from the red Honda CRV which was identified by two witnesses as the vehicle where a cadaver was transferred.
The vehicle was later found in Batangas and the description given by the witnesses on the three persons transferring the supposed cadaver later led to their identification and later linked Police Major Allan de Castro to the disappearance of Camilon.
“The Forensics Group has already released an official result and it said the bloodstains recovered from the Honda CRV matched with the DNA profile of the parents of Catherine Camilon,” said Fajardo,
“So it is not only the hair strands that matched with the parents of Catherine Camilon, this time, even the bloodstains lifted inside the CRV,” she added.
Camilon went missing in October, with her friend saying that she was supposed to meet de Castro.
Police earlier established that de Castro and Camilon were in a relationship, and that the police official once hit her for trying to end the relationship and for informing his wife of the illicit affair.
A case of kidnapping with serious illegal detention was already filed against de Castro and three other people, including his driver, tagged as the ones seen transferring a body to the red Honda CRV.
Fajardo said there will be a preliminary investigation on the case filed against de Castro on Dec. 19 for the criminal case, adding that the administrative cases against the police official are still ongoing.
Fajardo said they are still hoping that Camilon is still alive despite being missing for more than two months now.
