The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-6 said the inflation rate went down by 1.4 percent from 5.4 percent in October to four percent last month.
“The downtrend in the headline inflation in November 2023 was mainly brought about by the slower annual increase in the heavily weighted index of food and non-alcoholic beverages at eight percent in November from 8.9 percent in the previous month,” said Nelida Amolar, PSA-6 officer-in-charge and chief statistical specialist.
Other factors cited were the downtrend in prices in restaurants, accommodation, personal care, and miscellaneous goods.
Guimaras had the highest inflation rate in November at 5.8 percent. This city, the regional capital, had the lowest at 1.6 percent.
Capiz had a 5.5 percent inflation rate, 4.7 percent in Negros Occidental, 4.4 percent in Antique, 4.2 percent in Bacolod City, and four percent in Aklan.
