During the grand launch of their newest studio held at the Soundcheck compound in Santolan, Pasig, on Dec. 7, Wes announced that they will be producing their first international film, "The Guardian."

"I'm also very happy to announce that aside from the opening of our studio and the announcement of our partnership with Full House Asia and Soundcheck. I want to announce that we are also producing our first international film. I have here my partners from Will Studios and GV Labs; the name of our movie is The Guardian," Wes said.

Korean Director Jeong Jang-hwan was also present during the event and thanked all the people who supported their partnership.

"I would like to thank all of you for coming today and celebrating with us not only the studio opening but also this news about our new movie, The Guardian," Director Jeong Jang-hwan said.

Jeong also added that the shoot will take place in the Philippines on Jan. 2, 2024.

In preparation for the upcoming film, Wes mentioned they are now doing ocular visits in the Philippines.

"Right now, we're in the process of doing our ocular here. That's why the Korean team is here; they arrived last Monday. And we've been going around Manila looking for the best locations," Wes said.

"The Guardian" is an emotional action film about a Korean family seeking a new beginning in the Philippines. It depicts the friendship and familial love of a young Korean man trying to rescue his mother, whom a villain kidnapped.

Nam Woo-hyun, the main vocalist of INFINITE, will portray the role of Do-Joon. Also joining him in the film is another well-known Korean actress, Park Eun-Hye, best known for her character Dae Jang Geum in the drama Jewel In The Palace. She will portray the role of Mi-jin.

Completing the main cast is Korean actor Han Jae-seok, who will play the role of Cha Dong-Chul, the leader of the largest Korean gang in the Philippines.

Headlining their first international film, Parallax Studio took a leap of faith in 2015 when they forayed into mainstream movie production by co-producing "Nilalang: The Entity" starring Cesar Montano and Maria Ozawa.

The same movie was also one of the official entries at the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival, where it garnered numerous awards, including best in cinematography, visual effects, musical score, editing, and sound engineering.
