WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS Santa’s Post Office is in Rovaniemi, Finland, where it receives thousands of letters throughout the year

As December comes into full swing, it’s prime time to start sending in your letters to Santa Claus. While many are aware of Santa’s workshop being located in the North Pole, another base of operations is Santa Claus’ Post Office in Rovaniemi, Finland. It’s here where Santa and his elves go through nearly 30,000 letters daily from children and adults around the world this year alone. As the demand keeps going up, Santa has opened up a notice through Airbnb calling for voluntary elves to come and stay the night to help out in fulfilling children’s wishes.
“The elves have been working around the clock to transform Santa Claus’ Cabin into a winter wonderland. We want this to be a magical and immersive experience for a family in search of the ultimate yuletide experience. Not only will guests get to sleep in Santa Claus’ Cabin, they’ll also get a sneak peek behind the scenes of the world’s official Santa Claus’ Post Office during our liveliest time of the year,” shares Katja, the chief elf of Santa Claus’ Post Office, who is acting as the Airbnb host as well.

NAUGHTY OR NICE? At Santa’s Post Office, you can checking his list to see how you’ve been this year

During the stay, guests will be invited to roll up their sleeves and become fully-fledged elves for a day at Santa Claus’ Post Office. Guests will be given a crash course in “elfing” by Katja and will work with her team to help sort through the letters from children and adults all around the world. They’ll be referring to the famed naughty and nice list by Santa Claus himself. Other important tasks will also be given to guests, including emptying mailboxes and helping the elves to stamp the post with the special Arctic Circle postmark before it goes to Santa Claus. They’ll also get to learn about the day-to-day workings of the Post Office. After a hard day’s work, guests will be treated to traditional Finnish meals, a snowmobile activity, a trip to see the northern lights, and a relaxing traditional sauna experience to top it all off.
Those spending the night will be able to do so at Santa Claus’ Cabin, just a short merry trip away from the Post Office. The room in the cabin has been given a Yuletide makeover complete with traditional Lapland decorations, a wardrobe of elf-wear, and all the accessories you could ever expect from a cozy elven bolthole in the depths of the Arctic circle. The stay at Santa Claus’ Cabin will be free of charge.
