MPD, Manila RTC destroy all non-drug evidence of closed cases
The Manila Police District (MPD), together with the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC), destroyed the confiscated non-drug evidence of all closed cases on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

MPD chief Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay, joined by Executive Judge Carolina Icasiano-Sison of the Manila RTC, led the activity at the MPD Headquarters quadrangle on United Nations Avenue in Ermita, Manila.
Around 32 pieces of evidence were destroyed during the activity, such as new clothes, mobile phones, shoes, guns, knives, and screwdrivers, among others.
MPD Public Information Office (PIO) chief Maj. Philipp Ines said the ceremonial destruction is conducted yearly, which aims to avoid crowding the evidence room since the cases are over.
He added that all pieces of evidence were destroyed so that it could not be recycled or used again.
Meanwhile, as a guest of honor and speaker, Icasiano-Sison said that she is proud of Manila because it has the finest police in the country.
The activity was also attended by the Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 28, Sheryll C. Dolendo-Tulabing; Deputy District Director for Administration (DDDA) Col. Raul Tacaca, Deputy District Director for Operations (DDDO) Col. Roderico Roy Jr., and police station commanders.
