Migs Oczon is confident that his experience and learnings will help him in his new journey in the Korean Basketball League.

The 6-foot floor general expressed his appreciation to the College of St. Benilde community, especially to head coach Charles Tiu and team consultant Rajko Toroman for giving him the opportunity to hone his skills and prepare for him for the bigger tasks ahead.
“Very grateful to CSB, first of all, to coach Charles, and my other coaches for giving me the opportunity to play here. This was not easy, it’s been really tough. But I’ve put in a lot of work, practice hours in the gym,” said the combo guard.
The former National University player thanked Toroman, who gave him in-depth knowledge and ethics about basketball.
“Knowing [na] grabe yung experience niya, it’s obvious maraming akong natutunan. One of the major things na natutunan ko is to give importance to the little details, to trust your teammates, and to respect the game,” Oczon stressed.
“Yun yung number one, to respect the game. He’s been very detailed about respecting the game, for example bawal mag-slippers sa court. Those are the things that will make me grow more sa basketball,” he added.
Toroman was tapped as a Benilde consultant last August.
Oczon, 23, waived his last two player years for the Blazers and signed with the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis in the Korean Basketball League.
The Davao native led the Blazers in scoring column, averaging 13.7 points on top of 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 18 games, then faced a twice-to-beat disadvantage in the Final Four and ultimately succumbed to top seed Mapua, 78-67, on Nov. 28
Oczon couldn't play for CSB's last game but he was seen watching on the sidelines as CSB grabbed the first-ever third place honors last Sunday, Dec. 10, defeating Lyceum Pirates, 93-83.
