Mayor Along congratulates 200 LEPT passers from UCC

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan congratulated the 200 University of Caloocan City (UCC) - College of Education graduates who passed the September 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).

"Congratulations sa lahat ng mga bagong guro mula sa UCC! Patuloy lang ang suporta sa inyo ng pamahalaang lungsod sa propesyong inyong tatahakin. Kasama ang buong Caloocan, ipinagmamalaki ko kayong lahat (Congratulations to all the new teachers from UCC! The city government will continue to support you in the profession you will pursue. Along with all of Caloocan, I am proud of you all)," Mayor Along said.

The results of the September 2023 LEPT was announced by the Professional Regulation Commission on Dec. 7, where over 70,000 takers were named as passers the examinations.

The city government said that among the 200 UCC graduates, all the 45 first time takers of the examinations for the Elementary level passed the LEPT.  

For the LEPT repeater takers (Elementary level)  from UCC, 55.56 percent have passed the tests.

A total of 161 first time takers of the Secondary level test from UCC while 48.96 of the repeater takers have passed the LEPT.

"All first takers of the Elementary Level passed, while an almost 90 percent success rate was achieved by Secondary level first takers, raising the overall passing rate to 84.91 percent and 72.20 percent, respectively, well-above the national average for both tests," the city government said.

"Ngayong kayo ay mga ganap nang guro, sana ay matulungan din ninyo ang mga kapwa niyo Batang Kankaloo. Tiwala ako sa inyong kakayahan na makatulong sa ating mga layunin para sa pag-aaral ng mga kabataan sa lungsod. Bukas po ang ating mga pampublikong paaralan para sa inyo (Now that you are full-fledged teachers, I hope you can also help your fellow Batang Kankaloo. I am confident in your ability to help our goals for the education of urban youth. Our public schools are open for you)," he added.

The September 2023 LEPT was held on Sept. 24, at testing centers in Bangkok, Thailand and in different parts of the country.
