ILOILO CITY – Antique Gov. Rhodora “Dodod” Cadiao has urged the government to study her proposal for a new road to replace the killer curve in Hamtic, Antique following the December 5 bus accident in which 19 persons were killed and 10 injured.
Cadiao said the permanent solution is to build a straight road that is around 145 meters in length.

She said her proposal would enable motorists to avoid the curve road in Barangay Igbucagay where a Ceres bus plunged into a 30-meter deep ravine.
However, Cadiao’s proposal will go over the mountain portion and might require a huge amount of funding.
Cadiao said that the government, particularly the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), has yet to act on a permanent solution.
The DPWH only built a concrete barrier that did not stop the Ceres bus.
Cadiao said a resolution was issued urging the DPWH for a solution to the killer curve when she was chairperson of the Western Visayas Regional Development Council during the Duterte administration.
The road in Hamtic is vital for transportation between Antique and Iloilo provinces.
