House Committee on Human Rights Chairman Manila 6th district Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr. says it might be time to send Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian home.

This, as Abante castigated Beijing over the China Coast Guard's (CCG) latest water cannon attack on Philippine vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS)

"So I would like to say this now, bilang chairman ng (as the chairman of the) Committee on Human Rights, this is the most glaring violation of human rights done by the Chinese government," the veteran congressman and pastor said during a chance interview Monday, Dec. 11.

"I would also like to support the call of the Senate President Migz Zubiri na dapat sigurong i-recall natin ang ating ambassador sa China (to have the ambassador from China recalled)," he said.

"Kinakailangan na rin siguro pabalikin natin yung ambassador ng China dito, sa China, for us to be able to tell the Chinese government, 'Di namin gusto yung ginagawa ninyo,'" noted Abante, who didn't mention Huang by name.

(We may have to send home to China the Chinese ambassador, for us to be able to tell the Chinese government, "We don't like what you're doing.")

It was reported last week that CCG vessels used water cannons to turn back Philippine Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) vessels that were supposed to restock supplies for Filipino troops aboard BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal.

Abante lamented that diplomatic protests have gone nowhere.

"Parang wala na eh no [mangyayari pa] (It seems that nothing will become of it), because the Chinese government will everything they can. They're actually bullies, you see."

Regarding the acts of aggression within Philippine waters, the Manila lawmaker said: "I'm calling na sana ihinto na po nila ito (I'm calling for them to stop it) because it's not actually helping even them no."

And they are becoming very much unpopular not only in our nation but in the many nations of the world.
