The SPD covers the cities of Muntinlupa, Taguig, Las Piñas, Makati, Pasay, Taguig and Parañaque, and the municipality of Pateros

This year's initiative includes the strategic deployment of 292 personnel in places of convergence and 98 at transport terminals.

To strengthen street-level vigilance, 450 beat patrollers and 83 tactical motorcycle rider units will reinforce SPD's efforts.

In addition, 1,436 SPD personnel will focus on anti-criminality measures, supported by a specialized Red Team comprising 66 members.

"Continuous operations like Oplan Galugad and proactive community engagement through barangay visitation are at the core of our strategies," said SPD Officer-in-charge Brig. Gen. Mark Pespes.

SPD will leverage social media platforms for information dissemination and community mobilization, aiming to enhance awareness and cooperation among citizens.

To ensure a secure Yuletide season, SPD said it will intensify Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO), establish law enforcement checkpoints at strategic locations, and maximize deployment in places of convergence.

Special operations around 95 churches within the SPD area of responsibility and collaboration with local government units (LGUs), barangays and government agencies aim to secure areas with large gatherings, such as the "Simbang Gabi."

"Malls and other convergence spots are on our radar as potential targets for pickpockets and criminals," said Pespes.

SPD’s efforts will focus on crime prevention through proactive measures, including the deployment of personnel in crime-prone areas and a comprehensive public information campaign against indiscriminate firing and unsafe pyrotechnics.

Meanwhile, collaboration with other law enforcement agencies and force multipliers will further augment security coverage, ensuring a peaceful and safe holiday season for everyone”.
