Over 4,000 aftershocks detected following 7.4-magnitude Surigao del Sur earthquake — Phivolcs
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Sunday, Dec. 10 recorded 4,386 aftershocks following the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that rocked Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur a week ago.

The magnitudes of the aftershocks caused by the Dec. 2 earthquake ranged from 1.3 to 6.6.
Of those recorded, Phivolcs said 1,034 were plotted by at least three monitoring stations, while 54 were felt.
Meanwhile, 1,983 aftershocks were recorded from the 6.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Cagwait, Surigao del Sur on Dec. 4.
Of the recorded aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 1.4 to 5.8, 524 of those were plotted, while 10 aftershocks were felt.
