Actress Jessy Mendiola feels pressured and excited as she confirms her showbiz comeback in 2024 after giving birth to her first daughter, Rosie, last year.

In an interview with ABS-CBN, Jessy shared that she wants to spend more time with her daughter in the meantime before saying yes to doing any TV or film projects. 

"Actually, I promised myself and Luis, na sana yung first-year ni Rosie. Kasi I really wanted to be there for her growth, her milestones.

“Of course, ang milestones naman, hindi naman yan matatapos, eh. Kasi forever naman talaga ang pagiging ina. But yun nga, pinaplano ko na next year na babalik na ako," Jessy said.

(Actually, I promised myself and Luis during Rosie's first year I wanted to be there for her growth and her milestones. Of course, the milestones won't end because motherhood is forever. But yeah, I'm planning to come back next year.)

Since taking a hiatus from the showbiz scene, Jessy admitted that she's a bit nervous about returning but still grateful that people support her through her social media accounts.

"Naku, kinakabahan na nga ako kasi baka nakalimutan na nga ako ng showbiz eh. Pero I’m very grateful kasi bawat post ko, bawat post ko sa sarili ko at sa family ko, kay Rosie at Luis, talagang yung mga tao, yung mga nagsusuporta sa akin nandu’n pa rin hanggang ngayon and they saw everything," she added.

(Oh, I'm nervous because showbiz might have forgotten me. But I'm very grateful because every post I make, every post I make of myself with Rosie and Luis, really the people, those who support me are still there until now, and they saw everything)

Before having Rosie, the actress had been getting tons of acting gigs and even a film for the Metro Manila Film Festival, but she decided to decline since she was not ready. He last acting project was "Sandugo" and "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano."

"Actually last year pa nakakatanggap ng offer, even before ako magbuntis ako, marami ng mga nag-o-offer ng mga teleserye. Parang sabi ko hindi pa ako ready talaga ngayong taon. Kasi talagang gusto kong mag-one year old muna yung anak ko. So next year, feeling ko ready na ako," Jessy said.

(Actually, last year, I received an offer; even before I got pregnant, there were many people offering teleseryes. I'm not ready this year. Because I want my daughter to be one year old first. So next year, I'll be ready.)
