Jeri received an early Christmas gift when Tarsier Records finally released the music video for his debut single, "Gusto Kita."

"I'm very thankful for those who helped me make this possible. Seeing this become a reality, parang nag start na yung a dream come true ko na gusto ko na talagang maging singer, performer. Sabi nga ni Sir Roxy (Liquigan), since I'm very young and have a lot of potential, I can explore different genres and write more songs. So, this is my first step in seeing my ultimate goal and where this will go further," said Jeri during the media conference to launch the music video in Quezon City recently.

(I'm very thankful for those who helped me make this possible. My dream has become a reality. I want to be a singer and performer. Sir Roxy (Liquigan) said since I'm very young and have a lot of potential, I can explore different genres and write more songs. So, this is my first step in seeing my ultimate goal and where this will go further.)

Jeri expressed his gratitude to the well-known composer Vehnee Saturno for providing him with the song. It's a straightforward love song that's now playing on WishFM 107.5, Energy 106.7, Star FM, and WinFM 91.5. It is also being heard in radio stations across Visayas and Mindanao.

"Gusto Kita" is currently being used as bed music in a popular segment on "It's Showtime."

"Thank you, Tito Vehnee kasi siya ang nagbigay ng song. When he gave it to me, what resonated was its message. Yung ano ba yung sinasabi ng lyrics? Ako kasi, noong bata ako, eversince, high school or college, ako talaga yung type of person na umaamin. Ayoko ng regrets. Ayoko ng mga what ifs. So noong nakita ko yung 'Gusto Kita,' parang close to the heart ito. So that's what I really like about the song," the young singer said.

(Thank you, Tito Vehnee because he gave the song. When he gave it to me, what resonated was its message. What are the lyrics saying? Because when I was a child, in high school or college, I was really the type of person who always admits. I don't want regrets. I don't want what-ifs. So when I learned about 'Gusto Kita,' it seemed close to the heart. So that's what I really like about the song.)

By the way, Jeri has decided to drop his last name as he pursues his music career.

"When I went to ABS-CBN, si sir Roxy yung pumili ng Jeri. Sabi niya catchy ito and easy recall. Kasi wala pang musician na Jeri lang ang first name," Jeri said.

Vehnee acknowledged Jeri for contributing to his debut song.

"Maraming inputs si Jeri sa song. Sabi ko sige gawin natin para sa ikagaganda ng song. So dapat mag-adjust tayo para ma-achieve natin yung tunog na hinahanap ng mga market. Happy naman ako the way they tweaked the song like additional melody and additional lyrics. Then, we worked together with his arranger. During the mixing, nakababad talaga kami and I'm happy we were able to come up with a very good master," the acclaimed composer said.

(Jeri had a lot of input on the song. I said let's do it for the beauty of the song. So we have to adjust so we can achieve the sound that the markets are looking for. I'm happy with the way they tweaked the song, like additional melody and additional lyrics. Then, we worked together with his arranger. During the mixing, we really soaked and I'm happy we were able to come up with a very good master.)

Jeri discussed how his music revolves around the theme of high school and college romance.

"The video's inspiration is similar to high school or college love stories. In the music video, I play the torpe guy. So the story is siya ang may gusto sa akin. Mahiyain siya, but in the end, nasabi pa rin niya na gusto kita.

"The set was super fun, and everyone, especially Jackie Gonzaga, was easy to work with. Hopefully, after Jackie, we'll spring more collaborations in the future," said Jeri.

If there's one thing that made him feel good about making a music video, it made him more confident in his career.

"Noong bata pa ako, alam ko na kung ano ang strengths ko or kung ano ang klase ng boses ko. Ever since I was a kid, tenor one ako. Yun ang pinakamataas na classification para sa boses ng lalaki. When I sang the song, gusto ko parang dramatic entrance at may contrast.

(When I was young, I knew what my strengths were or what kind of voice I had. Ever since I was a kid, I was a tenor. That is the highest classification for a male voice. When I sing the song, I like it like a dramatic entrance and with contrast.)

"With this, naging confident na ako. Slowly. I'm a work in progress, and I enjoy everything na nangyayari. Yung music shoot, this is my first ever shoot. I was nervous, but in the end, I enjoyed the whole process kasi mahal ko yung ginagawa ko," Jeri added.
