CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police arrested two notorious carnappers in Mercedes Homes Subdivision, Barangay San Isidro Norte, City of Santo Tomas, Batangas, on Friday, December 8.

Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4-A regional officer Police Col. Rommel Estolano identified the suspects as Roberto Baliguat, 28, and Leonardo Dayo, 35, residents of Barangay San Isidro Norte.
The suspects were arrested following the complaints of victims Ryan Ballesteros and Catherine Rose Colo.
According to the victims, the suspects threatened them with a gun at 3:40 a.m. They sought police assistance and a follow-up operation was conducted.
Police arrived in the area and saw the suspects standing in front of a house with guns tucked on their waists. Lawmen approached the suspects who surrendered and were positively identified by the victims.
Recovered from the suspects were a Nissan Urvan (VAA-3574) and Toyota Hi-Ace (NDX-3642), two 9mm caliber Taurus pistols, a .45 caliber Armscor, 79 rounds of ammunition and magazines, a cell phone, two car keys, 28 assorted license plates and 10 suspected fake Certificates of Registration (COR).
Police found out that the suspects were notorious carnappers and allegedly involved in a rent-a-car scam.
One of the car's owners appeared at the police station and identified his vehicle by its markings.
Suspects are detained at the Santo Tomas City police custodial facility and faces charges of grave threat, illegal possession of firearms, carnapping, and falsification of official documents.
The RHPU 4-A appealed to the owners of the license plates seized from the suspects to appear in this camp to cooperate in their investigation and possible recovery of their vehicles.
