Pasay City's social welfare office rescues 49 street dwellers

A total of 49 street dwellers were rescued by members of the Pasay City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD) on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the rescue operation was conducted in coordination with the Pasay city police headed Col. Mario Mayames.
Rubiano said individuals sleeping on the streets and are exposed to the elements and danger were the ones rescued during the operation.
She said that from the 49 rescued individuals, 29 were found to be city residents and were brought back to their homes.
The mayor said 18 of the rescued individuals were taken back to Bahay Silungan shelter in Mandaluyong City while two minors were turned over to the Pasay City Youth Homes.
