Ogie Diaz, Cristy Fermin vindicated after KathNiel breakup - netizens

Netizens claimed that veteran entertainment journalists Ogie Diaz and Cristy Fermin have been vindicated following the breakup of Kapamilya stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Ogie and Cristy were the first to report that Kathryn and Daniel had split.

This is a clear vindication for both Ogie and Cristy, who were wrongly accused of spreading rumors.

In November, Ogie reported there were rumors that Kathryn and Daniel had separated. His news item went viral, which caused discomfort among KathNiel fans.

Die-hard KathNiel fans bashed Ogie, saying he was a peddler of fake news.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Ogie wrote: "May naibalita lang kami na sinabi naman namin na di pa confirmed at sana di totoo, fake news peddler na raw kami. So pag tama ba kami, sasabitan nyo kami ng medalya?

"Naaaliw na lang ako sa inyo, hehehe. Sana, masarap ulam nyo choday.

"Salamat sa mga nagpapa-trending. Ang importante, napasaya ko kayo," the veteran showbiz vlogger said.

Cristy also confirmed on her YouTube show that the two stars had called it quits. 

But Karla Estrada denied she confirmed the split of her son Daniel and his girlfriend Kathryn.

Cristy even challenged Karla to a face-to-face discussion on the issue of KathNiel's breakup.

“Anak, hindi ko na problema ‘yun! Ang pinakamaganda, magharap-harap kaming tatlo ng kaibigan niya na pinagsabihan niya. ‘Yun lang!” Cristy told her co-host on the online program.
