Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee revealed she has been texting friends who are potential beauty queens to join the Miss Universe Philippines pageant following the no-age limit restriction in the competition.
At the homecoming press conference for the beauty queen on GMA Network last Thursday, Michelle said she's excited for the next Philippine representative in Miss Universe.
Asked about the potential candidates for the pageant, Michelle answered: "That's hard to answer because next year is a new era for Miss Universe because of the elimination of the age limit.

"I don't know how to gauge it because it's a different type of Miss Universe.
"I do know a lot of people who have the potential pero hindi ko rin masasagot until I actually see who applies.
"When I heard the announcement of the no-age limit restrictions, I immediately texted women, I was like, 'Here's your chance! Mothers, no age limit; here's your chance to join again. Other than that, I still need to see who's joining next year.

"Of course, whoever wins will always have my support and guidance if they ask," Michelle commented.
Michelle also shared her advice to the next Miss Universe Philippines winner.
"I've said this before, you need to be authentic. You need to know who you are and who you're bringing to the Miss Universe stage. That woman has to have a vision for herself, too.

"I was given the freedom to execute my vision. It didn't come cheap as well. But it was worth it. I really micromanage every small detail and that is so important to also bring the Filipinos along with in that journey para maramdaman nating lahat na sabay-sabay tayong lumalaban.
"So it's knowing what you want, knowing who you are, and how to engage everyone. That would be my important advice," she said.
