Intelligence operatives of the Taguig police arrested an alleged member of the notorious Ben Mama gun for hire group on Nov. 30.
The police identified the suspect only by his alias, Jerome, who was arrested at a basketball court in Banai, Purok 6 in Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig.

The Taguig police received information through a phone call about the suspect, who was found armed with a firearm at the location.
The arresting officers arrested the suspect and confiscated both the firearm and hand grenade during procedural search.
The 26-year-old suspect failed to produce any document for the confiscated items. Investigation revealed his past affiliation with the Ben Mama criminal group.
According to the police, his arrest was based on Republic Act 10591 (illegal possession of firearm and ammunitions) and Republic Act 9516 (illegal possession of explosive.
“This successful operation reflects the unwavering commitment of the Taguig City Police to ensure the safety and security of its residents. The intelligence operatives and law enforcement officers played a crucial role in swiftly apprehending a potentially dangerous individual,” said Southern Police District Officer-in-Charge, Brig. Gen. Mark Pespes.
